    I really wonder why there are so few threads and posts in the West Bengal sub-forum. What happened Bengalees ? Can't you hear the clarion call of Vivekananda : " Arise, Awake and Stop Not till the Goal is Reached ". So much needs to be done and so little has been told to the countrymen. Come on lets show the country again " What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow" :bonk

    good 2 hear from u .....i m in abu dhabi te last 3 yrs......life is good here but u miss india offcourse......its kind of lonely life not much of socialising......but comfortable life.....tomar katha bolo.....kolkata te kothaye......ki koro.....

    it nice to see a bengali friend.....where do u stay?I stay in united states .......love to see this thread.......
    i am a bengali married girl my name is mou.....i miss india tooo......hope to go back to india soon....to say frankly my friend....east or west India is the best....added to that.....
    akhir dil hai hindustani.......
    the great people of bengal,rabi thakur,netaji subhas bose,khudiram,etc
    i am proud to be a bengali,proud be in a state of great icons....
    other than this......
    the beautiful monuments...The howrah bridge,the 2 hoogly bridge,the victoria memorial...and many others..... the great river the sacred ganges......

    The thing I love in my bengal......is the durga puja....fun and fun those days.....plates of narus...and mistis.....yummy!!!!!!!!!!
    bangla tater sari.....yes friend I miss them all...
    banglar bhuri bhoj......off course.......the most favourite the world know bengal by
    kolkatar's rosogolla.......ohhh how can i forget...sarse ilish...and chingri malai kari.....mouth watering......miss everything...miss everything...

    :) So nice to hear from both of you- Mou and Jhimli. Ami Saltlake theke.Ami akjon teacher. Tomader bairer experience jante pere khub bhalo laglo. Actually while in Bengal we don't realise what good things,culture, tradition and heritage we have but we feel it more once we go abroad. But it's good as well to learn the good things of other countries and try to incorporate it into our system.Hope you both will agree.Already pandals have already been started in some places for Durga Puja in kolkata. Shopping is also progressing . How do you all spend Durga puja in your place? Dujonei bhalo theko ar keep in touch !

    tomar post ta pore nostalgic hoye porche.......tomar kahaye ami ek mot.....we miss every bit of kolkata.........i miss every thing u mentioned & i miss puchka.......gariathate shopping.....pujor bazar oh my god i m having goose bums while thinking of pujor bazar kara......what 2 wear how 2 dress up all the 4 days of puja..........its wonderful shop here so much but that excitement is something else.........ami abu dhabi te thaki........tumi koto bachor bayre?.......tumi ki koro .....kolkata te kothaye bare?its nice getting in touch with u......keep posting

    :) Tomakeo janai Happy Indepence Day ! tomader Okhanker pujo sune bhalo laglo abar I feel sorry that you miss the real essence of pujo in Kolkata/India.Tobe nei mamar theke kana mama bhalo.You can prepare fujka at home.Tobe sabar sathe aksathe dariye fujka khaoar anandoi alada.Kena kata koro okhane? do you prepare special dishes on puja days? Bhalo theko.Abar katha hobe !

    ya v get pani puri here but the kolkata phucka is something else.......sukno phucka o paoya jaye but when i make at home i dont get the taste of kolkata phucka.........v do marketing here.....too many malls u can say our outing is mostly mall outing....now a days this trend is there in big cities of india also.......during puja days i do prepare some dishes if not nothing else atleast narkol naru....best part is v get scraped coconut......but the jaggery is not the good one so i preapre with sugar gomes out quite good....do u preapre something special.......
