    Hi all,
Anyone using Vitamix for idli and dosa batters with success. If yes, which model?
Confused to buy a mixer or a vitamix.... My main use would be idli dosa batter, then smoothies, curry pastes and vegetable purees...

I use a Vitamix for all the tasks you listed. Works very well for smoothies and batters. Only complaint is that the jar is too big for making small quantities of masala pastes and chutneys. I use a smaller wet grinder for those purposes.

Check Costco for Vitamix if you are a member. They had one for $240 recently which is less than half what I paid for mine many years ago. Any model will work fine, they are all very powerful.
