FIL calls them Kozhukattai only..so let me stick to the same....accompanied by hot tomato chutney, kids like to eat with sauce or just like that, does not need any accompaniment when hot...

Being children's day, the kids will be back by 2.00, just wanted to treat them. (It comes equally well, with milk powder, just boil it after preparing the milk) Rose custard: 1 cup milk 11/2 tbsp - cornflour 1 tbsp - rose syrup 1 tbsp - sugar (we like it a little sweet...) Boil the milk, mix the cornflour with a table spoon of cold milk and the rose syrup, and then add it to the boiling milk at the same time continuously stirring as in custard.when it thickens, just transfer to serving bowls, or cups, and decorate and cool. cream goes well, even strawberry jelly is yum along with it..layers of custard and strawberry arranged alternatively...colorful too... You could freeze them ice lollies mould too... Substitute chocolate syrup for a chocolate custard.
