Manjubashini, The plaited bread looks superb -:thumbsup- the uniform plaits & the golden colour with sesame seeds on top, all looks like from bakery. The veggies stuffing we can see in between the plaits is so tempting Would love to try it out -- can you please share recipe ? Divya.
Manju - I tried hyderabadi dum biriyani and don't know what I missed, I burnt it :-( thankfully I caught it soon, so had to move it to another pan and cook it. So not posting picture. Wll try again next week
Hello Dewdrop & Anjana i just love share it. i followed these two blogs Simple Indian Food- An Easy Cooking Blog: Whole wheat Stuffed Braided bread & this tooSpicy Treats: Braided Bread With Spicy Potato Stuffing / Stuffed Braided Bread I just mix and matched these two recipes and converted to my comfortabilty. Here goes my own recipe of mix and match it works for me always. The whole wheat never fluff up as we need so we have to bare with some of white flour. Ingredients for dough Wheat flour 2 cups Apf 1 cup Yeast 1 sachet(11 g) warm milk 1/2 cup sugar 1 tablespoon salt butter 1 tablespoon egg 1 (most of the bloggers dont write but my personal exp the egg creates a good puffiness and texture to all breads) warmwater as required follow the usual procedure for dough and let it sit for atleast 3 to 4 hrs as the whole wheat needs more time to double up. (Kept inside the oven preheated min degrees celsius and bowl of boiled water ................every 1 hr i ll switch on the oven for atleast 3 mins to make sure of the temperature.) Stuffing its our own wish ( i used mashed potatoes, boiled peas and corn, grated carrots, mushroom pieces and cheese too for kids and salt and spice to ur taste) After dough is doubled follow the procedure given in the blogs and raise it up again for 1 1/2 hr ................. 5 mins before the baking session completes brush it with egg white beaten up and sprinkle sesame. Last but not least after baking brush slight butter for glazy look. I made the second one too but our family didnt have a patience for photo shoot they were in urge to finish it off. Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy baking.
