    Hi Gowri and Nandu,

Thanks. your dishes look yummy too. It's lunch time here on the west coast and I am drooling looking at all the great pics. The cauliflower rasam looks yummy - is it your own recipe or available in chit vish index?

    Supriya..

    Very simple..

Wash the cauliflower florets and cook them in salt water for few minutes. I dont like it raw that much, so I cook it a bit more.. but make sure it doesnt break... Drain the water completely and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
Mix few spoons(depends on how many florets you are using.. for 5 bog florets, I used 3-4 spoons.. I never measured it :-() of maida, corn flour, salt, red chilli powder as per your taste,1/2 spoon of ginger garlic, soy sauce, food color(I always use red.. but whatever you like) and ajinomoto (this is optional, but will give you restaurant taste). Make a fine paste and add cauliflower and toss in to coat it with the paste. Heat 2 cups of oil and deep fry the cauliflower florets and drain the excess oil with a paper towel.

Then you can just garnish it with coriander and sauteed onions or with other veges like green, red, yellow peppers :)

Before serving add a slice of lime !!!

    Editor's Note: Congratulations Gowri!!
We found this recipe very innovative so this Cauliflower Rasam has been selected to get featured here along with the photo you shared in Virtual Feast only photos thread.
Please do share this joy with your friends.

    Cauliflower Rasam :

Just sharing the procedure of Cauliflower Rasam.... Enjoy !!!

Dhal – 2-3 tbsp ( Lentils - cooked and smashed well)
    Tomatoes - 1 ( diced )
    Cauliflower - 5-6 florets
    Salt – to taste
    turmeric powder – 2pinch
Green chilli – 1-2 nos ( Cut into 2-3 pieces and again cut its lengthwise)
Lemon juice - squeezed from a lemon

    For tempering :
    Oil/Ghee - 1 tsp
    Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
    Hing – ¼ tsp
    Jeera - ½ tsp
    Curry leaves – 4-5 nos.

    For garnishing :
Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tsp

Mix the cooked-smashed dhal with tomatos, cauliflower, salt , turmeric powder with Green chillies with 3-4 cups of water. Allow them to boil for 10-15mins. If you want to reduce the time… cook cauliflower separately in Microwave and add to the cooked dhal, this will save you 5mins.

After tempering this mixture, switch off the flame and add lemon juice to it. Stir it well and add Coriander leaves to garnish it. Our Cauliflower rasam is done !!! :)

    With love,
    Gowri
