    Shobitha dear welcome to my thread. Instead of Devi I keep Vilakku in a thambalam below the thambalam i put rangoli by putting chandan andkumkum to vilakku, putthe thiri and you can puteither oil or ghee and put flowers on the padam and do archana make some neivedyam and offer to God. And then do kalpura aarthi. They do it elaborately also but I do it in a simple way like this.
