Very Interesting Inputs On Traditional Cookware.

    I sent this video to a friend to find out the essence of what it is. I didn't use turmeric in the brazilian soap stone pot in the initial curing of that. Just olive oil. And used hair-dryer heat in the interior of the pot, instead of putting it on the stove. My pot had been used for both veg and non-veg.

    And one of the important things to remember is to use a copper heat diffuser plate on the gas-stove flame. This kind of heat diffuser would protect the stone pot. In ceramics and stone cookware on a gas-flame, one must avoid heating any one specific spot. The video does not show this.

    The old fashioned charcoal hibachi-type stoves are more gentle on such cookware. One can put the soapstone pot on such stoves, or the western charcoal barbeque grills directly without any heat diffuser in-between. Kumootti is the Tamil word for that hibachi kind of stove.
