    Rice 1 cup
    Yellow moong dal 1 cup
    salt to taste
    cummin 2 spoons
    pepper crashed 1 sp
    ginger chopped 1 spoon
    carrot 1 finely chopped
    Palak finely chopped 1 cup
    water 5 cups
    Mix all the things and keep in the cooker for 4 whistles.
    Add 1 tsp ghee on the ponga for plate when u serve

    Thanks for sharing.

    I did not know that Palak and carrots can be used in VenPongal.

    I generally little milk along with water while cooking. Venpongal tastes better with milk
