I stopped making it in pressure cooker hma. The reason was, when the whistle goes, the water spills out as we put too much water for pongal. I just use the rice to water ratio as 1:6 and make it in a wide mouth dish with a lid. Its a lot more time consuming but its not bad at all. Other wise, the procedure which was given in this thread works for me, just make the ratio 1:6 and make in a wide dish pan.
it should work...just mash it with a ladle when its still hot. Actually, I feed this to my 14 month old too
oh wow.. then my DH should like it.. he's too fussy when it comes to food.. the simpler the better.. his mind cannot wrap around complex food.
