    Hello all,

    I request all you - health conscious people here, to share those recipes that you find vegan (NO non-veg/egg/milk/milk products). You really dont have to be Vegan to share it here!
    Its only that you could help people like me who have recently changed to Veganism and are constantly looking out for certain alternatives.

    Plus, I would also contribute here all that I try out and those that I find interesting ! Please try them and give your feedback !

    Here is my first favourite one :

    <style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 2cm } --> </style> VEGAN CHOCOLATE CAKE

    Ingredients
    * 1 1/2 cups Maida
    * 1/4 cup cocoa powder
    * 1 teaspoon baking soda
    * 1/2 teaspoon salt
    * 1 cup Organic unrefined sugar(powdered) / Jaggery (grated)
    * 1/3 cup vegetable oil
    * 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
    * 1 teaspoon vinegar
    * 3/4 - 1 cup water

    Directions :
    1. Preheat oven to 200 C. Lightly grease the baking pan.
    2. Sift together the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
    3. Mix Jaggery in water. Filter it to remove impurities.
    4. Add the oil, vanilla essence, vinegar.
    5. Mix together all the ingredients until smooth.
    6. Pour into prepared pan and bake at 200 C for 10 minutes then at 150 C for 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

    Here is a picture of what I made.Since I have still not yet tried out making Cream, I just decorated it with nuts and cherries. Shall try out other options too and will post here.

    Looks very yummy and simple to make custard.
    I have a doubt you have written that the jaggery should be dissolved in water ,what shd we do if we are using sugar and, all ing shd only be lightly mixed and not beaten right?

    Hello Rinky,

    Thanks a lot for the compliments!

    Just powder the sugar. Add it to the dry ingredients before you sieve.
    Add the water at the end.
    Mix lightly.

    If you beat well as we usually do for cakes, it becomes super soft and you will be amazed! Thats it! Enjoy!!!

    APPLE MILK SHAKE

    Apples - 2
    Soya Milk(natural/original) - 1 Cup
    Organic unrefined Sugar/Jaggery - 4-6 Tsp
    Vanilla essence(if required) - 3-4 drops

    Chop the apples (I always prefer to use them with skin).
    Grind them with little Soya milk.
    Add the Sugar/Jaggery, remaining Soya Milk and Vanilla essence.
    Grind again in Mixer.
    Chill them with ice cubes, pour into 2 Glasses and serve
    :cheers !!!

    Tips :
    This Milk shake doesn't have the Soya flavour, but if you still feel it a bit, add the essence and it will be the same as the usual milk shake!!!.
    I tried it with Organic unrefined sugar. But I'm sure it will taste good with Jaggery too!
