    Hi ilites!

    Recently i happened to hear the album "Vatsalyam" by Bombay jayshree , wow what a collection by the great Singer.

    it was treat to listen to such classic collection of Lullabies with her sweet and soft voice. Literally i got tears in my eyes listening to song "Mannupugazh" from the album.

    Hats off to her for comming out with such a soothing and relaxing album when the whole world is so stressed out. i would recommend all lites those intrested in music to listen to thes e album.

    True Vaidehi,

    It is a beautiful album and Chithra has often mentioned about it being her favorite too in our forums.

    Also, another lovely IL'ite took pains to send me a copy of it and it is really a collection of soothing and calming songs.

    Hi,

    I have not listened to Bombay Jayashree's Mannupugazh. But I have listened to the same song earlier by Madurai Mani Iyer. Wow the song brings immense joy and pleasure to whoever hears it.

    One of my favourites. Thanks for the link and thanks for bringing back nostalgic memories.

    My kids listen to this before they sleep everynight..they say it gives them a very nice feeling ....for me also.....anytime...I love her voice and her singing with feeling....

    Hi Shanthi,
    Actually for some songs some people are authorities and I personally feel Madurai Mani Iyer is an authority for this song. It is my opinion. I have heard his casette so many times that when ever I think of the song I can hear his voice.

    my view..

    .i feel the first impression in the best...i have seen my fil...liking sarvam brahmamayam sung by b.jay...more than the one by sudha.. i have been trying to analyse maybe because he heard b.jay rendering first...

    the same way kurai onrum we can never listen to anybody else renditions without mss coming in between...

    At the same time i also agree some people have the authority on some songs....

    We will continue this discussion....

    Reviving an old thread again.

    Mannupugazh is one heart throbbing song. And i agree with vaidehi on the tears part. I am naive in appreciating carnatic music scholarly but then tears come organically when listening to this song..

    Also Manikkam katti.... it is also emotionally stirring song.
