Bamboo Sari---------- Its a rare piece of work by the Rajasthani handicraft people. It is woven with 95% bamboo threads, which is got by soaking thread taken from bamboo sticks, for a period of 6 months. The remaining 5% is of some silk or synthetic material for the designs and color. It comes only the shades of bamboos(creamish yellow) with designs in either maroon or green. The speciality with the sari is that, if u need it like that of a starched one... u have to just soak it in water and put it for drying in the sunlight. If u dry it in the shade, it is as soft as any cotton sari. It needs no ironing and minimum maintenance. bye
