Re: Varalakshmi Pooja pictures Hi Anu, Very beautiful! You put the sari around so well and the hair decoration is great, it feels like looking at Godess in the temple. Thanks so much for sharing. Will try to post a picture of my pooja after this week, but I don't know to decorate so well like you. HG
Re: Varalakshmi Pooja pictures hi! Very very nice pictures. you have decorated it so nicely.. Me too will try decorating like this, this time. BTW, it's a full saree or some other cloth of lesser length. please clarify. How do you put the blouse.. Thanks for sharing. Regards ksv
Re: Varalakshmi Pooja pictures Thanks all.. The dress for the lakshmi is stitched (approximate measurements) as below.. Take any silk, or silk cotton material maybe a meter length and stitch it like skirt with nada or use the same cloth as nada. But do not complete the skirt. Take 10 inches width and 30 inches length of the same cloth you are using for the skirt, and stitch it in the top middle part of the skirt. This should give a saree feel. Tie the skirt or saree in the neck of the sombu. Picture 1 with Maroon dress is just the skirt. Picture 2 and3 with green dress is the saree type. Another method, Just stitch the skirt in the above method. For saree pallu, take a contrast colour blouse bit, make fleet in the whole blouse bit, and pin the fleet. Then finally put this over the kalasa with the skirt. I am planning to decorate this year like this. Another method, If you have new saree or Davani especially for Lakshmi, then keep the fleet in the entire cloth and pin it together in the top. Take a rope, put this fleeted cloth over it. Now adjust the length of the saree by pulling the saree on the other side of the rope according to the height of the kalasa. now tie it around the neck of the sombu. Then adjust the fleets to look like skirt. The last picture with yellow skirt is this method. Hope this helps Anu.
