Hi ILites, I am now 36week pregnant and in my next visit to my gynaec( that is about 3 days from now) she said she ll be doing an internal examination to see any progress of labour. Is it common for the docs to do internal exam at this stage?? Is it necessary ?? Kindly let me know about ur experiences...am really scared
Internal Examination in the third trimester is Fine. Nothing to Panic. Please make sure that its not too hard which may lead to water breaks. Basically the internals are done to check if the Head of the Baby is in position.
Hi its normal to do an internal check-up at this stage to find out the position of the baby. So dont worry and co-operate with the doctor.:thumbsup. All the best.
hi almost every pregnant woman undergoes this kind of internal examination during this stage. And don't worry, the doctors are usually experienced and they will handle you gently.
i have never had an internal examination throughout my previous pregnancy & have not been told of one for this one.. i guess from reading other posts, this is dependant on the doc's practice at the particular places rather than an universal need for it to be done.. if you are concerned(i would be), do ask your Doc without fail before you go ahead for it..
