    Hello all the working women here, please suggest some reasonable budget-friendly formal/career wear dresses which I can buy/suggest for a friend who will start working soon first time in US (especially banks)

    Please suggest links or pics which would help.

    JCP, sears etc carry very good collection of formal wear for reasonable price. Many weekends they have sales too.

    US has lots of great stores like JCP, Marshalls,sears & more. Basic black/brown pants , different blouses /tops , couple of cardigans or jackets since winter is on its way.

    JCpenney is supposed to be famous and on everyone's list. Should surely check it out.

    Kohls & Macys have a good set of collections too. Most of my formal wear & suits are from Macys, few from Kohls. She could go for Shoes at Payless. They offer budget friendly shoes.

    Talbots is for mainly for plus sized women. So i guess Op can skip it until and unless her friend is on the heavier side!!

    I used to work in the headquarters of a Bank. I used to get my formal clothes from Loft , Banana Republic and Express. These were some of the more expensive shops and used to keep those clothes for meeting days, team lunches, etc. I also used to get clothes from Macys, Kohls, Ross/TjMaxx and even Walmart. I would wear those tops paired with a nice smart sweater for other days.
