    Hi RedRuby,

Just went through your thread and wanted to wish you lots of luck. I am from Dec due date club and just wanted to say that C-section is easily manageable these days....so dont worry and everything will be fine.

Also, sorry for stealing your thread...but I had a question for Laks9.

Hi Laks9, while reading your reply to Redruby, I realized that you had a preemie at 29 weeks. I just wanted to ask you how you and your lil one managed? If you dont mind sharing, can you tell me what caused preterm delivery? The reason I am asking all this, because I also delivered my 1st one prematurely at 33 weeks and now I am pregnant with my 2nd one. As per my docs, I am again at a high risk....so just wanted to know your experience. Was it all of a sudden or you had some idea about it? I am very concerned and keep praying that everything goes fine this time. Please let me know about your experience.

Hi indianwife :) dont worry just ask whatever you wish in this thread, as moms we are all sailing in one boat right? :) about your question, im really sorry that you deliverd your first one so early, must have been a shock for you. I saw ladies delivering the second one in time after first one was much to early, so there can but dont neceserraly has to be a connection or it has to repeat. What did your doctor said??? Wish you all the best and a healthy happy pregnancy and good delivery experience :)

One of the reasons i didnt want a c-sec was longer recovery and another was that its sort of limiting the number of children (births) you can have, as many people say if you once had one c-sec you will have it again, and in my case i still dont understand really why it happend...
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About the colostrum, it was right that the milk looked still this yellowish as i described for about 2 to 3 days then it slowly turned into a pure white. i guess that was when the colostru stopped and the pre-milk and then the normal milk came.
Aboutthe milk in general: some nurses told me again that colostrum would be just once there but i didnt panicked as i kept all your words in mind. Nurses didnt turned out to be of great help with breastfeeding at all anywhays but the midwifes are a great source of wisdom.

thanks a lot again for calming me down and giving me good information to get relaxed into our first try of breastfeeding :) it worked superb and she latched right away :) thanks again all you ladies.

Now she is bit confused with sucking as milk is too much (so she startet to be really lazy wit sucking) and she has nipple confusion (was in incubator twice first time they made me shift to bottle as that nurse didnt belife me i had enough milk, later doc and midwife confirmed it wasnt good they made me shift). Anywhays im really happy she has good weight gain even with icterus :) wouldnt have managed so well without your support :) :)

Congrats RedRuby!!! I am so glad that you and your DD are doing fine. It is a great feeling when your baby can latch and you can breastfeed your child. Like I mentioned earlier, I had a preemie baby and she had a hard time latching...so I had to pump and feed her.

Once again Congrats!!! Take care of yourself and your LO.

    Firstly, RELAX!......calm down!

Colostrum only gets produced once the womb is light...which means once the little one is out...it dosnt matter if normal or c-sec. When even your angel comes out, the body starts its preparation. Its not the case of use it or lose it....

Its amazing that body also works in demand supply way...the more baby demands the more he/she gets...no limit!

Secondly, I had a premie, she was in icu for 3 weeks. They take premie babies right away to icu after birth. I took so many visits each day for 2 weeks to make sure I keep the demand on charts. Otherwise the body assumes you dont need it. Just a suggestion, because you are worried about feeds, buy a pump. It comes very handy sometimes.

So, relax...go with the flow. Every thing is gonna be fine ;-)

CONGRATS!..I just read previous posts :)

Hi Indianwife, it must be pritty difficult to have a premie baby, hats off that you managed so well and went through all the pumping plus feeding stuff. May i ask if you got your LO used to latch on your breast again? Mine had a bit of a "sucking" problem initially which got worse after she was first time in incubator :( she is sometimes more licking or sucking really softly but not strongly enough, she is not opening mouth wide enough too, its due to easy milk flow of bottles it seems. I was told touse nipple shields in hospital and it turned out to be a problem for us now :( i have enough milk so its running into the shield and she more or less just has to close mouth to press out, sometimes she sucks more but if she has to suck harder she gets fussy and angry sometimes literally shouting at my breast.. i try to start with shield now more often and then put it away quickly to give breast, it works more or lessbut as i said she doesnt open mouth wide enough or sucks hard enough so it will take longer plus she tends to be lazy and if she is fuzzy im her pacifier.... i breastfeed her yesterday more or less the whole afternoon.. several hours.... if you have some suggestion or could explain how you did it i would be really thankfull :)
