I dunno if this helps but my co-worker says he always eats kosher or halal when he is out of the country.

When I ate raw fruits at hotel, I didn't get sick, But your mileage can vary.

Buy whole fruits and wash them well before eating. If you are traveling wash them with bottled water. Or eat fruits that can be peeled like banana and pineapple. Avoid precut fruits. If you are drinking fresh coconut water bring your own straw. We even use bottled water for brushing teeth if we are traveling.
It might seem extreme but I had to go to hospital once after becoming dehydrated due to stomach upset and it really ruined the trip, so I take a lot of precautions. It also means no more of my favorite ganna-juice. Some of my friends also take the hepatitis A vaccine before going to India.
