Unknown Angels!!

[JUSTIFY] This incident happened few days back.

My bosses travel crazy and their itinerary rather change of itineraries at the last moment drives everybody crazy. Till they board the flight we are never sure of their travel.

Now these people were supposed to go to US and I had booked one through the travel agent and another booked online directly. I had never done international bookings before and online booking of the same was totally new. I still mustered enough courage and did the same. Checked twice about all the details like pass port, meal preference etc. Everything was perfecccccccct and I was too happy at my successful attempt and was enjoying the impending free days and planning myself. The day of the travel dawned, again checked all the itineraries and handed over the tickets to them and wished a bon voyage. I left the office early so that I could be at home with my mom who was staying with us for a change.

I reached home and a beep on the phone announced an sms. Checked the same and it was a request for a check in to be done for the domestic flight. I soon called the domestic airways and coolly started giving the instruction for check in……….then…. I realized the gravity of the situation……My head started spinning..my heart came to my throat..my eyes were filled up…I had done the online booking for the next day……OMG I felt the whole earth caving in below my feet and I would just collapse any time…

Literally ran to my system and checked the booking and there I see that the whole itinerary was for the next day…what was I supposed to do now…Nothing seemed to work…my mind was blank..my BP shooting uppp. I called the call centre and a message started saying it is closed.

Then I called the Duty Manager of the Domestic airlines who was known to my boss and I had interacted with her. I begged her to help me out but she was helpless but she gave me the Duty Manager of the international flight. I spoke to him for a preponement but he was travelling and I had to wait till 8.30 p.m. a good 1.5 hrs. My family fully supported me & helped me calm my nerves. I called the Airport Manager whom I had contacted long back for some info and asked him to help me out of this predicament. He assured to help me but no promise of pre ponement. I was worried. Till now my boss had not know this. My dd advised me to call him & inform him of what had happened but I was in two minds to call - one knowing his temper and another it was totally my fault.

Some more calls to the Duty Manager & the airport manager revealed that they could try their best to prepone his journey. Finally the call to the boss was made and he had already landed in the airport. Again lot of confusions but by this time the DM had preponed his journey and called me to confirm the same. My joy knew no bounds…I started crying with a relief…Finally the whole drama came to an end with my net showing me the revised itinerary and I confirming the same to my boss and sending the same as an email to him.

Without the help of the Duty Manager, whom I had not spoken to before, this could not have been made possible. And the Airport Manager for helping us out in the nick of the time. These Unknown Angels saved me from a big loss without expecting anything in return. Blessed are these souls… I just cannot imagine my state if this could not be accommodated. It might have cost my job being new to the same. My Devi herself came down to help me when I needed her the most. She just carried me through all these turmoil to come out unscathed.

Thanks Monifa for coming in your fb. The 3 hrs was totally gruelling time. I just cannot imagine how I cme out of all this.

Yeah good lesson learnt the hard way...will never commit this mistake again.

Yes EQ I was also like that. I thought I would land up in the hopital without any doubt. I really don't know how I could talk to all these people and could make this happen. Without HER it is impossible. ANd these unknown angels...how am I go to thank them????
