Unity In Diversity, Or…..?

    I was so taken with how cute these dressed up children are, singing "My name is Madhavi...." song that is popular in English Medium Schools in southern metros. However, many parents have begun to realize the message of the last two lines of the lyrics [if you are from India, you speak Hindi] and have been occasionally successful in removing them.

    One set of parents have an alternate song to represent many more languages and place Hindi as one among many other languages:
    My Name Is Madhavi, We Are Just Like You - My Daughters And Me

    Touché. I don't find Hindi as the language as India as offensive as the implication that the other languages and peoples do not belong to India.
