The insurance companies went above and beyond services expected from them. They sent a text message to the mobile phone asking whether they are any damages the next day after hurricane and gave all phone numbers to contact in case of damages. Besides, they opened offices in the area functioning for a week for filing claims along with the team to assesss damages and provide answers to the policyholders. They were also answering what is covered and what is not covered. Here in the US, the flood insurance is different from Hurricane insurance. Fire and wind damages are covered under home insurance policy whereas flood damage is covered under different insurance.

It is a humbling experience when everyone is helping each other trying to remain safe. The life should be normally like that even when it is not catastropic situation. It shows how humanity has compassion in the heart but not been liberal enough to show it in normal times. I wish there is more awareness about climate change and why there is more of such hurricanes, earthquakes, snow melting, etc. The balance of nature is important for the humanity to survive.

 

Well said @Balajee. This is just a beginning of response from the nature and there are many more to come. We contaminated oceans to the extent that life can't exist peacefully in the ocean as well. The humanity is so selfish in everyway to express their superiority forgeting the balance of nature is important even for very own existence.
