My Uncle has been going through lots. Helping my Auntie in this regard.

My Auntie took Uncle to ER two years ago around this time (early Oct) because he was spitting up bright red blood. After hours in ER and battery of tests the Doctors could not diagnose. The bleeding stopped.

However a CT scan during that time and CT scan 6 months later showed that a clot in lungs that was there during the ER has now disappeared. So his lung Dr said it's probably something that was stuck in his lung and came out.

Fast forward to two years later. The year of Coronavirus.

Few days ago my Uncle coughed up brown pglem in morning. I told Aunty that is likely old blood and somethin in lungs. Perhaps body is fighting off colds. Now he does more cardio and weight lifting so body may be able to fight better.

This morning Aunty is on the phone frantic. As soon as Uncle took his morning medication with water (Synthroid if that makes a difference), he spit up a huge wad of brown pglem. He was terrified and asked Aunty what did he give her, what did he give her?

ER is very uncomfortable and Coronavirus is making it worse. And Doctors always say go to ER to be on the safe side but their area has seen uptik in Coronavirus cases.

How do I calm down my Aunty and Uncle?

Doctor said keep windows open and do cardio. Monitor for few days. It may be simple problem of cold.

    Still nervewracking for my Aunty!

The spitting mysteriously disappeared. Similar thing happened years ago. He spit up blood, went to ER Twice, no one could figure out what happened.

    Then is stopped.

Lung Dr says it may have been a clot in lung trying to come up. Because MRI shows a clot that disappeared.

Oh thanks for the update, happy that everything is fine for your uncle. we are still seeing that issue for my dad, and it’s been more than a month. Issue is only in the morning. He lives in India. Doctors haven’t been able to find anything.

I'm really sorry to hear that.

How much is the blood. Does the amount of blood decrease each day?

I pray your Dad will recover.
