Hi V r planning to visit Coorg this August (week 1 and 2). We are travelling with 2 kids, 3 yrs and 10 yrs old. I had a few queries and was hoping those of you who have made this trip will help with some of my queries. - is August a good time to visit? I realise its the monsoon season but is it possible to plan for outdoor activities during this month? - which is best route for road travel to Coorg in terms of duration, road condition, scenic route: from mangalore, Bangalore or Mysore? Accordingly we will take a flight to one of these destinations - places to see and things to buy Thanks a lot...
August is the month of monsoons in coorg. You will have rainfall. But most people love to travel to coorg in the monsoons as the rain will lighten up the greenery and it will be heaven. So i recommend you go ahead and enjoy Coorg in August. It is 120 km from Mysore and 136 km from Mangalore , Bangalore it is 252 kms. You can buy coffee powder, garam masala, honey

Coorg is a beautiful place. We had been in oct n there were mild rains. We stayed at club mahindra as it was gifted to us We travelled from bangalorevia state tourism bus which was quite comfortable.
Mum to two That's great! The food and the resort are wow! They also have fun activities over weekends for couples n kids. We wished we could stay longer. We arranged for coorg tours for one day though the resort itself.
Sorry, Telja but I don't know the room tariff. I am a co-member so won't be paying for the room as the membership fees are paid annually.
