When I grow in discipline and rigor Under the careful watch of my parents, My seed gets nurtured with right-living I get rooted in the principle of righteousness. When I become a student of my teacher To learn the lessons that life brings I build my attitude, behavior, and character And I learn to grow the branch of love. When I find my soulmate that I share my life with, I begin to learn how to share and care. When I experience the pleasure and pain I get to grow the leaves of peace. When I search for the purpose of my life, In restlessness and agitation in my mind, I discover the core of my being and I begin to bear the fruits of Truth When I encounter the end of life and The film of my actions run in my mind’s eye If I learn to let go of my possessions and belongings I begin my journey to the Universal Absolute. Then the light of knowledge begins to unfold, Banishing the darkness of ignorance forever, With no more tears, sorrows, or death and I experience transfiguration into Thee.
Dear @Viswamitra I enjoyed reading the poem not once but thrice and once in reverse direction. I enjoyed the analogy . Stages of learning that ultimately leads one to source is nicely expounded as in a seed growth that nurtured well Right from sapling stage with robust roots to mighty tree & branches that bears numerous healthy leaves and later to flowers of fragrance and sweet fruits dressed aesthetically in shape and colour. Righteousness, love, peace are essential to know the truth and reach the Great Designer - The Almighty. A thought provoking six stanzas. Thanks & Regards.
That was a beautiful insightful one on the different stages of life, and mostly from lifes experiences. Very nice.
Thank you Thyagarajan Sir for a detailed response. You have narrated it so beautiful the growth and development we are actually experiencing as opposed to what the world see as development.
