Hi, My sister (in US) is due for her delivery this December and she would like my parents who is visiting her then, to get a few clothes for the kid, that is of traditional Indian style. It will be a boy. Probably something that she can make him wear for parties or celebrations, when he grows up a bit. This is the first kid in the family and we have no prior experience of shopping for a kid. Can you provide some suggestions on 1) type of cloth options we should be looking for 2) Stores where we can find good collections of these in Chennai Appreciate your help.
Being south Indian we normally use to wear Half pant (now a days modified as shorts ). We are Indian our common dress will be Pyjama & Kurtha with turban will be good.
During Diwali season Naidu Hall stocks nice dresses for boys including cute caps, etc, you have not mentioned your location but if you can travel try Sriram textiles Annanagar they have lovely collection for kids,it is inear roundtana opposite Tanishq.
