And i switch over to the other categery ' nothing is too big ' club while i have some knowledge of the job but no guts to do it . Is it not better we act according to the situation & our capability ? Dear Veda
You are right about the peons in Govt offices! Some of them are more resourcel than the Secretaries of the Departments! Similarly some porters in Railway Stations can secure you berths just before the departure of the train when the waiting list would be well over 100! These are all examples of Nothing (No one) is too small!
You need a magnifying glass only to study the smallest things but how you use the findings is where there may be differences! For example, I use them to explain away my failures if I make a muddle!

    Dear Indhu
You must be quite dexterous to be able to swing between two extreme schools of thought! Such adaptability is indeed a sure insurance against failure!
I dont remember the name of the film but I know it's a Bagyaraj/Banupriya starrer which ran fairly well. The mental hospital scenes were really uproarious! It could be Aararo Aarirao..

    Dear AC,
Don't ask me, why I am addressing this to you - for the simple reason that you seem to understand everything !

From Nothing to Nothing is the journey
    This nothing or No-thingness is
    Not without significance
For when the "I "dissolves into nothingness
A great transformation into Oneness occurs.

I am sure that you would understand this too just as fast!

    hello sir,

Nothing is commonly understood as the lack or absence of anything at all. Grammatically, the word "nothing" is a noun, which suggests that it refers to
    something.

When a non-believer of God says that "There is no God", a believer points out the first two words of his statement that "There is ....... no God". So God is there.

When you say "I have nothing in my mind", you actually mean that you are focussed and not confused. So here nothing means a lot.

So Nothing means a lot to me.

    Dear Chithra
That was simply beautiful! If Adi Sankara had been alive and conversant with English, he would have explained his advaitha exactly in the same words!
This Chithra to Chitra exchange is worth its weight in gold!

    Dear Vanaja
Though I would love to concede your point, I cant help pointing out that it is a bit over-simplified. The subject of Nothing has been vexing the minds of the greatest philosophers!
I give you some input about how they look at the subject of Nothing below:

Many contemporary philosophers think that the whole idea that Nothing is a thing that can be pondered is itself a grammatical mistake. Just because I can use the word “Nothing” as a grammatical subject in a sentence in the same way I use other nouns, doesn’t mean that the word designates a thing. The words “all” and “nothing” are typically not thought to be nouns, but logical operators that say something about things that have certain properties. “All dogs are mammals” means that if a thing is a dog, then it is a mammal too. “Nothing is a round square” means that if a thing is round it is not also square. So Nothing, on this view, is only a way of denying certain properties to the things that exist. It is not a thing in itself, nor, certainly, is it a way of talking about the absence of all things. When we try to talk about Nothing itself, there is really nothing to talk about.

You would be interested to know that there is no definite conclusion about this mindboggling subject!
    Sri

    Dear Cheeniya Sir
Those lines by our mutual friend is truly the best ever. It is so simple and in its simplicity it is divine. They are more precious than their weight in gold. Fit to be engraved in my minds eye so as to help me not lose track from the question "Who am I" ? .

    Dear Sri,
I do not understand if you were teasing me !
    Dear AC,
You made me ponder on this topic.
Can't help sharing with you, the Shanthi mantra of Isavasya Upanishad
    Om purnamada: purnamidam purnaat purnamudachyathae
    Purnasya purnamaadaaya purnamaevaa vasishyathae
    Om shanti: shanti: shanti:
That is fullness this is fullness
From that fullness, this fullness came.
Frm that fullness, if this fullness is removed, what remains is fullness.

My thoughts on "munching" the above:

Just acceptance of ONE who is so much a part of you
To be a part of the whole
As much as the whole is a part of you
    In that oneness
    All my grumblings vanish !

What is anonymity? Nobody and yet everybody ! Getting lost is such fun.

Have I rambled more senile than you, Sri ?
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Cheeniya Sir,

Nothing was written on nothing by you
Not keeping quiet I posted something
proving thereby I dont know anything on nothing
    and not familiar with not-anything
So I ended up gettng the reply
    about nothing and no-thingness
and therein I dissolved into the oneness
But now I seem to have landed myself
in absolute blankness in the nothingness
and looking askew at all the fullness
(is it food related what with the munching words)
And now that I have to look at a part of the Whole
Now I am positive someones been talking about the DONUT.
Like I said in the beginning of nothing
I should have kept quiet and accepted I
knew nothing of anything , something and no-thing.
