    Re: too much itching

    hello

    itch itch and scratch
    that sure is common
    try applying kasthuri turmeric
and til oil or other oil
    over abdomen
    after ten or fifteen minutes
    wash with besan
    suggest you avoid soap
    for bathing
    why not try besan ?
if you use turmeric with oil
    and wash with besan
there is no trace of stretch marks
    after delivery....
but wonder if you can get
what i say in the place you live
    try sticking closer to nature
    take salads, kootu and greens
    avoid oils...no fried
    take more vegetable soups
    avoid refrigerated items
    take fresh fruits and vegetables
    whatever in season
    not preserved or stored..

    my best wishes for a
    happy go lucky kid...!

    sathya

    Belly itching

I'm in the 31st week and in last 3 days I'm having sever itching on my breasts and belly. I don't have any stretch marks on my belly. As I'm itching my ab and breasts I have developed red rashes in some places. I have tried creams like coca butter, lotion and dry skin cream, coconut oil, etc but no use. Itching is kind of non-stop. Anybody experienced this sort of itching in your last trimester?

    Re: Belly itching

    hi sima,
I too had the same problem at the same time of pregnancy. Dont worry, its a very common part of pregnancy. Keep applying the cream and oil... it will go off on its own. But do not scratch a lot, as it may end up in marks later on.
A 'hi' to ur baby inside :)

    cheers,
    suvidhya

    Re: Belly itching

Itching is due to stretching and dryness. Keep it moisturized and when showering use luke warm to cool water as hot water aggrevates it. If the itching is too disturbing you can ask you ob if its okay to apply calamine lotion to calm the skin down.

    Hi,
I am also in my 31st week and facing the same problem for past few days. Inside home it can be managable. But if I am in outside like shopping and walking, it become terrible to control...

    Hi Sima,

I am in 21 weeks of my pregnancy and this is my first post in this site. Even i have started getting belly itching but heared it is very comon and i am keeping my tummy well moisturised. Try to use Aveeno body oil. Use it while bathing instead of soap or body wash. If doubt, consult with your OB once before using. Good luck to you.

    Swapna-

Thanks for your suggestions. After 5 days itching is kinda gone. Only some time si itch but it's not severe. :) My nurse prescribed me hydrocorticosone. That was not a great help. Also she asked me to take claritin and benadryl which did not take it becoz I'm against medications unless otherwise it is really necessary and unavoidable.

    Re: Belly itching

On the lighter side, there is an old wives tale that if you have lots of belly itching, it means baby has a lot of hair...I didn't have severe itching, but thank god my LO has lots of hair...:)
