    Try zyrtec for immediate relief. Safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

    For long term prevention, take an omega 3 fatty acid supplement - trader joe makes a good one that is odourless and tasteless.

    I wont advise you to take any medication.. not good

    Apply lots of oil / lotion.. maybe your skin in dry.. My body was itchy too in first trimester.. I applied baby oil & olive oil all over body AFTER bath..

    Rather than any moisturizer or ointments it is always better to opt for almond oil or olive oil or any genuine Vitamin.E oil..these are really effective :thumbsup

    Hi All,

    Iam in my 28 th week and I have severe itching through out my body.It started from abdomen near the stretch marks and my belly looks red now with all marks

    Iam controlling myself not to scratch,but its not possible all the time.Iam applying the oil from Vitamin E capsules,palmers cocoa butter lotion,but it does not seem to reduce.I have given my blood sample to test,but the results will be known after 4 weeks.Iam suspecting PUPP.

    Any inputs please?

    hi all,

    I'm in my first trimester. 8th week..
    I have itching on my tummy since yesterday.
    As far as I have read these posts, all seems to get itching during their third trimester.
    So I wanted to know if it is normal to hv itchyness in the 2nd month or will I have to talk to GP.
    Please advise.
    If the sensation increases, then I'll try to follow anyone of those measures suggested by you all.

    First of all congratulations on your pregnancy!

    I had that itching sensation pretty much through out the pregnancy but increased during last trimester (since a few weeks). Make sure to moisturize your tummy daily. I am using palmers tummy butter and I am very proud to say that so far I have not got even a single stretch mark. Apart from that, it also helps to keep my tummy moisturized. Since the skin is stretching, you get this itching sensation. If you dont find palmers, try for a different brand.

    If you are getting rashes you must consult your doctor.

    I live in UK, where can i get the palmers tummy oil? Can i find it in Pharmacies? or should i order it online?

    You know Hyacinth is one of my favorite spring flower :)

    I used to live in UK before and I dont remember if they sell it in Boots. Check there first and Hyacinth. If they do not carry it, see if you can ask them to give you something close to that. I am sure they must have something for this.
