I have never used bottle for DD who will be turning two next month. My question is we directly used the cup after I weaned her off. She still doesn't get the hang of holding the cup without spilling. If I hold she drinks pretty well but when we go outside or when we are on the go unless I give her she doesn't volunteer. That's the advantage of sippy I guess. She also uses playtex sippy without the valve but tilts them pride down sometimes. So moms what did u all do?

no need to use bottles. My daughter never took a bottle. We tried with straw cups and now on to open cup/tumbler. They take a little time to learn. You can use open cup at home and a straw cup outside.
