It is a good idea to note down some specific ,exclusive, traditional recipes- that are special to your family.

Also, it is better to note down the proportions for Idli-dosa etc, and proportions for sambar masala etc,

Of course, we can get the recipes from internet, but, to get the authentic taste of one's home food, which we would crave after moving here, it is better to type them in a word document or just type the recipe and mail it to our own mail ID.

We can call home and get the recipe, but, due to time-zone difference,we may not be able to talk when needed.

    What say?:)

It is better to bring all the Certificates,Mark sheets, T.C etc,

As, after coming here, though initially we may not have plans, we might want to do higher studies- be it a short-term course or masters and then, it would be difficult to get the transcripts from the University in India.

Our friends have discussed about these in detail in our Education and Personal growth forum.

Please check the forum a little ahead before leaving from India, so that, we can write to or visit our Universities and get the required documents.

    All the Best!!!:thumbsup

Now that we have discussed tips on things to bring, packing, etc, We shall see something about Jetlag.

Jet lag is a temporary disorder that causes tiredness, insomnia and other symptoms like anxiety, stomach disorders, head ache , nausea etc., as a result of air travel across time zones.

It happens because of a disturbance in our body's internal clock.

It takes around week for us to settle down to new time zone and come out of jet lag.

Here are some tips that I came across in the net to cope with jet lag.

    1. Maintain physical fitness.
2.Try to move to the time zone of destination from a few days before travel.
    3. Avoid Alcohol.
    4.Reduce Caffeine in take.
    5.Drink plenty of water.
6.Move around in the plane- Move the legs up and down and back and forth while sitting and walk every two hours. this helps not only in reducing symptoms of jet lag, but also keeps blood clotting in feet at bay.
7.If possible , break up the trip into chunks.
    8.Wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
9.Try to adopt to the destination time zone by going outdoors during day in sunlight. Sunlight helps in speeding up the adjustment of our body clock.

My personal experience with a little kid was, I kept food ready for my LO and he would wake up at mid night for a few days.So it is better to keep food the child is used to ready at all times.

There is also a Homeopathic medicine called "No Jetlag" It helps in relieving the symptoms.
