vibuthi will do wonders on ur silver items.. rub it with a cotton or soft cloth, ur silver item will shine like anything..

I have tried a method suggested on the internet for cleaning small silver items, gods and those with lot of work and embossed designs. It worked so well I did not scrub them even once .
Here it is
1. Take a wide, heavy pan and arrange a sheet of aluminium foil on the bottom
2. Pour water till the foil is covered and according to the size of silver items to be cleaned. They should immerse in the water completely
3. Boil the water .
4. Reduce the heat and add 1/4 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup white vinegar.
5. mix it a little bit and add the silver items to this water.
6. continue heating for 5 minutes and switch off the heat.
7. Keep it in the water till all the grime and dirt is removed, it gets deposited on the aluminium foil and the silver shines.
8.Rinse them with cold water and wipe them dry. polish with a soft cloth. View attachment 177820

Actually. we have silver idols which have been in the family for over 40 years. There is a lot of grime in the nooks and corners. This was my first trial of this tip. There is a visible change, I will continue to follow this for some time and hopefully, they will start looking as good as new
