Time Off From School

I am planning a trip to india this year, unfortunately we are bit late and new session is about to start. My kiddo will be in 3rd grade. So we are thinking if we should delay and combine with school vacation around xmas or go now.
Any idea - how many weeks off we can get before getting disenrolled from school? If any one did that before.
Also, she is enrolled to various other classes and i need to see how much she can take.
