Nice introduction of your friend to your friends at IL, Mals.

Who is not attracted to the moon, BTW did you see my 'Battery" poem regarding the moon ( self-ad kind of thing, Isn't it)

In Tamil we have lots and lots of Moon songs in literature as Meena pointed out and also in cinema songs--watch out for moon songs in the game thread.
If a child doesn't eat food, mom will carry the child and show the moon and make the child eat., which I suppose was very common in those days where there were no tall buildings... and moms got 'time' to do that.

You are right Sriniketan even my mom use to show us the moon and feed us and along with it she use to sing the song that Mals has put up here. Even when we grew up we use to make it a point to go to the terrace on the full moon day and have our dinner there with the whole family it would be great fun.

    Dear Sri,

Wondering how you missed this thread.. I will catch up with your thread too. Its not promoting the thread, but directing members what is good to read in IL apart from the nomination thread. We too have many songs in Hindi, my mom, told me that she never showed me any moon for having food as I was a foodie always.. he he.... No fuss for food, just gulp. I remember my parents saying that they enjoyed cooking just because I relished the food.. he he.. I befriended Moon on my own not with the help of my parents or with any songs.. My best friend "Moon" and like a true friend you stepped in. I am happy..
Hey, Sri, did you see my new avatar.. Doggies dearie!! So chweet na..
