Dear SS, try with fresh peas for best results.
Yes, the kneading has not been proper or sufficient. The dough must be very soft - that is the criterion.
If the milk is fresh stock, Ok, use it. Otherwiise there is likely to be a smell.
    Love,
    Chithra.

Viji, I don't think, it will go for all recipes, unless specified.

    Chitra Maami,

I used to get only store bought yogurt here. I usually buy low fat ones which are loaded with sugar. I thought of making curd at home myself and followed your curd making steps. I am using organic low fat milk and tried using organic plain store bought yogurt as the starter curd.

The curd is not thick like how we get in India. Do you have any tips for me? Should I let it stand for some more time? What do you think would have gone wrong here? Thanks a lot,

    Aswini

Aswini, it is not possible to just guess & predict the reason!
The starter curd must be perfect. It must set in 8 hrs, not more.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chitramma,

I saw S&S and thought that might be fresh peas but while I was trying to log in to IL to see your reply electricity went off and so did the internet connection until now. So I guessed wrongly and made with the other peas but what a taste..It was sooo super..S said it was much better than what we had had in Khazana, Dubai (Chef Sanjeev Kapoor restuarant). Next time I will make with fresh peas and even better this. Thanks a lot for the perfect recipe. Only I could make lil'S eat the paneer. Didnt force her though, as you said.

As for the RG's thanks for the advice and I will try again and then let you know the results. (Hopefully good this time).

    Love

    Dear Aswini,

Long back I tried making yogurt with the organic yogurt and it failed miserably. See if you can get yogurt starter from friends or from local temple.
