SS, I buy ration atta or wheat from shops & grind plain.
The colour might have changed because of the puli. You can just buy a MW plastic plate to keep it partly closed.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chitramma,
Is thandu keerai and arai keera different? i am getting confused with arai, siru, molai and thandu keerai.
which one of this is amaranth ( here i find greens with little red tint in the middle and they are big bunches)

I miss all these keerais here :-(

    Thanks,
    Chaaral.

    Dear Chitramma

I have a similar doubt as our Chaaral. I wanted to buy thandu keerai and i saw another type there. They dont have a tag at the grocery store with certain type of keerai. I asked a lady who was buying it and she didnt know the hindi / eng / tamil name either.
how do u identify if its amaranth or murangai ilai ( keerai ?)
im asking genuinely and though it may sound silly, pls help me

    love
    -Priya

Dear P, Mulakootal with plain beetroot is never made.
No, your idea will not work out. Dhal is best cooked separately to cook soft.
    Love,
    Chithra.
