    :drowningHelp in using an oven!
    <HR style="COLOR: #ffffff; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff" SIZE=1>Hi Chitra mam, I am totally new to baking. I really don't know even the basics of using an oven.[​IMG]I recently got an 16 litr electric oven .Can someone tell me the proceedures to be followed, like
    a.which vessels can be used, can metal be used?
    b.The proceedures to bake a cake. Should the heat setting be for up, down or both.
    c.For which recipes should we keep the heat setting as up, down & both?
    e. There is a tray & a baking net provided with the oven. For what should the tray be used and for what should the baking net be used ?
    e. How to cook frozen burgers, nuggets in oven?
    These details r not given in the manual of the oven. So please, please
    help me, I really waiting to use my oven![​IMG]
    Once u clear my doubhts I want to try out all ur baking recipes. Thanks in advance!

    instead of coconut

    Dear Chitra madam,

    What can be used instead of coconut for gravy or kulambu? I came to know that we can grind the nuts and use instead of coconut. Can you tell me which nuts to use?.

    I have already gien in so many recipes, to start with, in aviyal.

    Chitramma, I often get white dosais.. If i allow it to be on the tava for few more mins to get it brown, it becomes black and not brown... Is it the problem with the dosai maavu or with the Tava? Please help...

    Vidyaa, I have given a separate recipe for golden brown dosai.
    If the dogh is sour, he dosai will be brown.
