Making this thread for folks interested in completing the ‘75 Hard’ program.

75 Hard is a “transformative program for cultivating mental toughness/discipline.” — so goes the claim. The rules are simple. Do the following for 75 days:
    • Take a progress photo
    • Two 45 minute workouts – one outside. Workouts do not have to be back-to-back.
    • Drink one gallon of water
    • Read 10 pages – non-fiction. No audiobooks.
    • Follow a diet program – no alcohol or cheat meals
I’ve been meaning to do this program since the world switched to working from home, but kept putting it off because of my reservations about the guy who created it. (He is a conspiracy peddling, anti-science kook.) Having said that there is value in the challenge itself. Now that ‘the company’ wants us back on ‘the campus’ in a couple of months, this is my final window of opportunity. For diet I will stick to counting calories with a daily goal of 1400 calories. I have also modified one of the canonical rules and added one of my own.
    • Drink 3L of water (A gallon seems overkill for someone my size)
    • Meditate for >10 minutes a day
Feel free to modify the rules to suit your needs and jump in. The only real requirement is consistent implementation for 75 days.

    Dear Gauri,

'What you seek is seeking you"! That's what came to mind when I opened IL this morning and this was the first message that I saw. I am in. I am in the opposite situation of what you speak of - managed to do well for the past year or so and now that things are getting back to normal, slipping :( Just as I was thinking I need a little more discipline, here you are! You are a blessing. Thank you!

Don't want to chit chat here on the thread but had to write one post on how I felt.

Starting today with some add ons/modifications.....see you with updates! Because of offering yoga on zoom on some days, I work out more than I can handle. I doubt if I can do two workouts/day. And I have a feeling with 'summer break', I will be doing a lot of 'start overs' but persist I shall :D

Nice to be in such good company, ladies. Looking forward to it.

@Gauri03 I can’t thank you enough for starting this thread now. A much needed one for me. I have similar reasons like you. We are soon going to be returning to office may be in a couple of months or so and I want to look better than now.

I am going on a vacation for 8 days and so I will start from June 14th.

My primary goal is to reduce my tummy as much as possible. I never lost that pregnancy belly and it appears bloated like 6 months pregnant. I just don’t like this at all. I want to be serious this time and achieve tangible results.

    Here are my modified goals:
    1. Take a progress photo
    2. Workout twice a day — 15 mins crunches in morning, and 45 min brisk walking later in the day
    3. Read atleast 20 mins a day
    4. Eat balanced diet - no cheating

I always drink enough water. So that doesn’t have to be a goal for me. Also, I will not be exercising during my periods. Except those days, I want to diligently follow the routine.

@Gauri03 thanks for starting this thread! Count me in! I do Martial Arts for 45 min. M-Th so I will keep doing that. I need to get back to morning runs so this will help!
    My modified goals:
    • Take a progress photo
    • Two 45 minute workouts – one outside (run/walk/hike in the morning)
    • Drink one gallon of water/ cut back on coffee.
    • Read 10 pages – non-fiction.
    • Follow a healthy diet.
