    dear padmini

    cell phones can do harm
    to humans too
keep it near the ear to talk
    and you have brain problems
    in the long run

    keep it in your pocket
    it interferes with the heart

keep it in your hip pocket
    it is responsible for the
    low sperm count and also
    the low performance of uterus
    and harmones...

we are not just killing a bird
we are trying to kill ourselves too
    slowly....

    mr mohammad dilawar
    singlehandedly is trying
to put up the sparrow population
    by an awareness campaign
    and also making boxes for
    sparrows to nest

    there are others like
    the retired bank officer
    who along with his friends
    is building nests for sparrows
    with twigs and ropes
and places them on trees and hedges
he says he and his friends are
    so happy
    when they see that sparrows
adopt the nests that these people make for them
and more so when they see tiny sparrows hatching..

    thanks for stepping in

    dear pushpa

    thats great news to know
that they built a little nest
    in your son's apartment
it is gods gift that we have a
    little time
to watch them twitter their little ones
    the squirrels and birds
are indeed lucky to be at your place
    keep the birdy population flying

    thanks

    sathya

    dear radhika

    thanks for the wishes

    hope the news about their
    extinction because of mobiles
    is not entirely true...
like i said we can do without
    sparrows
but we will REFUSE to do
    without cell phone

    but like all natural things
i hope the twitters will find
a way to survive inspite of
    human intervention in their life

yes talk less and perhaps save a bird na..!!

    thanks

    My dear dear Sathya,
It is such a heart warming and at the same time a heart touching post.
I love sparrows.I had posted a snippet on sparrows some time back.

Yes we don't know how to enjoy the priceless gifts God has given us,the twitters of sparrows one among them.Yes,we don't seem to mind that the cell phones harm them,I don't want to use the word kill them, but we sure must have our mobile.
I appreciate the thought you have penned, that may be we should celebrate The World Humanbeing Day.
    Great write up.
    love
    mithila

    Sathya my dear buddy,

Thrlled to hear about your brilliant article in THE HINDU....just read it now.
I'm going to get the 4th issue and read it again to get the feel of it straight from
    THE HINDU
Fantastic piece on the little bird that we all tend to take for granted...
Talking about extinction, to tell you frankly, I've not seen any sparrows in our area here .Plenty of crows and mynahs come over for the grains and water we religiously keep for them We have a large squirrel population too! Besides two kitty cats and our own pet dogs ...so we have a mini zoo !

    Good one Sathya & congrats.

Hope we realize the importance of many other things and do not become a reason for their extinction.

    Dear Sathya,

Congrats !! Its a great news indeed.
Just now went through that link. Beautiful piece. So thought provoking.

I grew up hearing to those chirpy birds, in the huge jackfruit tree in our neighbours house. But now, here, I miss the crows too :-(. But the pigeons make up for that that.

Wish to see many many more of your articles getting publish :thumbsup

    Bye
