Khemchand Prakash (1907-1949) who was a Rjasthani by birth who gave a great status to Indian Film music. His creation 'Aayega Aanewala' not only became a sensation but also was voted the best song of the millennium. During a career of just 14 years, he created many legendary songs. He made music but not much money. Javed Akhtar quoted Khemchand Prakash's name in his maiden speech in Rajya Sabha on May 17, 2012 by mentioning that Khemchand Prakash's wife had to beg to be able to survive in her last days. Khemchand gave us such legends as Latha and Kishore Kumar. I offer you five of his great songs: Chanda re is one of my great favourites.
