I don't understand why you are making a call to pause this thread.

 

i have personally seen people holding puberty functions in big hotels, calling lt of people and gifting tons of gold. so i dont think it is subdued.

 

Oh I would never call for a pause that too from the mods.
just that mod-o-pause rhymed with men-o-pause, that's all. darn thing I have for the rhymes!

 

I know, which crowd you are talking about. It's money/gift collecting event as a prestige show-off.

Some events were held as part of political gathering also since current Govt bans large gathering of opposite party.

This is a great thread. Learnt a lot from all the beliefs. Never new the details. Brought up in a bigger city in a small flat and joint family, the only place i was told to avoid was the small temple in the house.

In Gita, Krishna says that "sarvasya

cāhaḿ ​

hṛdi

sanniviṣṭo"​

i dwell in everyone's heart. So never understood, if God lives in the heart, why can't we pray to the God in the temple in the house or otherwise. Just like in the movie OMG, people who have never read the religious books have made rules based on religion.
