Dear Brothers and Sisters, Om Sri Raghavendraya Namaha Om Sri Vsya Raya Theertha Namaha Sriram Jaya Ram Jaya Jaya Ram I am going to share with you all the Greatness of Sri Vysaraya Teertha who was the previous incarnation of Sri Guru Raghavendra Teertha. 1) Sri Vysaraya Teertha worshipped Sri Hari and Vayu and he had been instrumental in establishing 732 Hanumantha Idols in many places in India. 2) The biggest credit goes to Sri Vysaraya Teertha as had been the main cause for getting the greatest Hari Dasa devotees such as Sri Purandara Dasaru and Sri Kanaka Dasaru who provided huge service to Sri Hari. 3) Sri Vysaraya Teertha served as Chief Guru (Raja Guru) for the great king Sri Krishna Deva Raya during the Vijayanagar empire. He has helped the king to overcome many problems that had happened in the life of the king Krishna Deva Raya. 4) There was a period where there was no priest available to do the pooja to Sri Tirupati Venketasa Perumal, Sri Vysaraya Teertha personally went to Tirupathi and did Pooja and Service to the Lord for 12 years. 5) Sri Vysaraya Teertha was a great scholar who wrote many books or Granthaas and chief among them are Taatparya Chandrika, Targa Taandava and Nyaamrutha. 6) He had been growing Sri Vishnu Teertha as he thought Vishnu Teertha would be His next successor. But the destiny played otherwise. Sri Vishnu Teertha was handed over to Sri Surenda Teertha and then Vishnu Teertha had been renamed as Sri Vijayendra Teertha who put a solid foundation for Dwaita Philosophy in south india. Sri Vijayendra Teertha had defated Shaivite Swamy and got the Matha in Kumbakonnam along with other properites. Thanks Sairam
Dear Sriram, Kudos to you for bringing to readers and devotees of Sri Raghavendra swami the anecdotes of his disciple . I was looking for the year in which all these happened. The mention of the word “book” here is tad enigmatic. I presume you don’t mean printed books in Sanskrit or Kannada. Was printing press existed in their period? Regards.
Dear Brother Thyagarajan, Om Sri Raghavendraya Namaha First, Sri Vyasa Raya Theertha is considered the previous incarnation of Sri Raghavendra Swamy, not His disciple. Sri Vyasa Theertha lived in the 15th century (1467–1539), so you can better understand the historical context here. When I mentioned the word "book," I was referring to the works he created, which are actually called "Granthas." However, since not everyone is familiar with this term, I used "book" to clarify that these are the writings he produced. Hope it helps. Thanks Sairam
