Nice & useful thread Priya. Good idea to keep the number up to ten. Otherwise you will find us bookaholics posting a number of our favorites. I have to agree with Lotusaura and Helpmeangel and love most of the books you both have mentioned especially the classics, enid blyton's, agatha christie's, and jeffrey archer's.

    Here is my list.

Harry Potter series -J.K.Rowling (What not to love about this book!!!)
Prisoner of Birth - Jeffrey Archer (The modern version of Count of Monte Cristo, love the climax argument in court)
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen (Romance, Darcy, sigh….)
The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho (Inspiring)
Sherlock Holmes – A.C.Doyle (Love his detecting skills and Poirot’s too)
Rage of Angels – Sidney Sheldon (Best of Sheldon)
Nirmala – Premchand (A book on the evils of the dowry system, impacted me strongly when I read it during school days)
The Da Vinci Code – Dan Brown
    Twelfth night – Shakespeare
    Wuthering Heights – Emily Bronte

Likewise Shanvy! Can't go off to sleep without a book in hand...an old habit developed in my childhood upon seeing my father do the same in our library at home... He still lives in his library :)

Oh I love Twelfth Night too...missed that one. And The Da Vinci Code was intriguing too.

And among the comparatively recent books I read, I loved Larsson's 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' a lot. Loved the way he crafted life-like detail in each scene, just amazing.
Also read Jo Nesbo's The Snowman and The Bat very recently; they're great reads too. Just realised, I've been reading a lot of Scandinavian authors lately! :)
