The Game is ON - 2014 FIFA World Cup begins today

Anyone else stoked about the football world cup? The opener between Brazil and Croatia will be played at 1:00pm PDT/ 4:00pm EDT. Brazil seems a shoo-in for the game but I wouldn't mind an upset for the host just to add some excitement to the opener. USA has landed itself into the "group of death" and I really don't see them getting past their group. Ghana, Germany and Portugal are formidable opponents. I just hope they win a couple of games. We're a newbie team; someday we'll get there for sure.

I'm excited about everything that happens around a World Cup - merchandise, , anthems, advertising, water cooler talks, face palms, eurekas, penny ante at work, savant molluscs except the game.

Good initiative, Gauri! I will peep here to watch the commentators predicting the wins of this season.

Lovren barely touched him and yet he went down arms flailing. Totally ruined the game for me. I am no Spain fan but I would love to see them win, just to see Brazil lose. X-(

Right now Mexico-Cameroon 0-0. Though I feel Mexico should have been given the first disallowed goal.

Just for that i wish spain get knocked out in group stage.. So boring they are...... I like counterattacking cause its puposeful fast game...... Tiki taka is like boring the opposition into submission......... Down with spain........
