    THE FORTUNE SEEKER


    The parrot peeps through the tiny window

    The fortune teller coaxes it to take a bow

    Expecting keenly the parrot from the cage

    to come out and gently pick a page

    to tell his future; the young man wants to know



    Looking at the ceiling, he recalls his past

    Confined to bed, the old man looks lost

    His near and dear ones desert him

    like passing clouds; pastures not green as it seem

    With blessings for all, he waits to breathe his last

    Congratulations on reaching the milestone of 200 blogs. What a great poem to achieve that feet. Waiting to die deserted by the kith and kin is painful. We spend our earlier life knowing the predictions of what is going to happen and later look at the ceiling not knowing when the end would come. You have explained life in simple words. Thank you.
