The fallen heroes

What in common does the tree and the soldier have? :confused2:

I was also in that same confusion till I saw a tree fell in our backyard due to the severe weather..snow storm, last week. :-(

I felt and still feeling very sad whenever I watch that fallen tree from our window.
All of us in our family had the same feeling towards that fallen hero/shero.

The way it fell on the ground seemed that it is thanking the earth for its stay.:bowdown
Till it was alive..nobody noticed how much fresh air it gave, had beautiful flowers, prevented the ozone layer to damage further and how we enjoyed its shade and how it withstood the severe weathers all through its life.:hide:
I think, the deer family, who would visit our backyard frequently would also miss the tree for its beneficial/selfless qualities.

So does the soldiers who fight for a country.

They also suffer in the sun, cold, winter and storms..we live in their shade of protection.. they sacrifice themselves to protect their motherland and only then we notice them and others become fallen/unsung heroes.:hatsoffBow

Do we really care about these two fallen heroes..we talk about them for few days and that too will die later..:notthatway:

Why can't we learn from them to be selfless in their respective services to the mankind?

Only you can come with such good posts. Really it is true that we forget to appreciate about the tree and soldiers. So much they do for the world.True we should learn from the to be selfless and do service to mankind in whatever way we can

Dear Sri,

Now that is a wonderful comparison, between a fallen tree and a fallen hero/soldier.

what we can do is, as citizens, say contirbute, and pay say 5000 Rupees to the family of the fallen soldier, every month, so that the family can have something to fend by.that is the least we can do, and also if we can, pay fo r the basic education of the children of the soldier.

For that the Govt must realease the name and the address of the soldier, and allow us citizens to do something our way.

very true, if it is srini it has to have a deeper meaning no?:biglaugh

recently even in our condo some trees were felled, to create more light apparently :bonk i was thinking only i have the time to miss them many did not even notice it .

where do we think of our soldiers on a daily basis..frankly i have to watch them in a movie to realize their sacrifice and I do shed a few tears but next minute we are having a hearty dinner. and laughing .:hide:

kamalji..that is a wonderful idea...but may be difficult ..yes it would help if we have a ready made list of families that we could offer help to.

A Very very good post. A nice relation brought in between the fallen ones .

A lone fallen tree does look very depressing . Similarly Soldiers fallen for the country …the best that can be done like what Kamalji has said has to be led by the government and I am sure citizens will join in. And so well you have brought in selfless service …that’s what a tree does …so true. Like the soldiers. And the many who live with only selfish motto will be born again as a tree …for a life devoted to selfless service. Regards GP

Dear Srini maam

What an exact comparison that too between tree and a soldier.We often realise tree was there when the light falls without obstruction and disturbs us.
Its true soldiers are also not remembered untill their death.During death time there will be a show by politicians and organisations and what not ,the country also pay homage after death.
One of my neighbours said she used to get tensed over the announcement of war,for her father was a soldier.Now that he had retired she is relaxed.Her habit of feeling relaxed after father's retirement can be forgiven but what about us who truly ignore those news and headings like any other political dramas.
Like Kamalji said there should be facility for the us to keep in touch with them after all they are the ones sacrificing themselves for our well being.We have the duty to be a support for their beloved ones.

Dear Srini,
Really a thought provoking post. When a branch falls from tree first we just pay some attention. after that our routine fallos without even giving a second thought about the tree. Like you have mentioned, the same thing is fallowed in the case of our " heroes" also. Most wounded service personnel are able to return to their homes, but not all families can provide the level of support, supervision and care needed to help someone who has a serious injury. Although it is hoped that every member of the services wounded in the service of their country will be able to return to duty, there will be many who leave the services. It is important that they receive assistance and guidance in this, enabling them to make a smooth transition to a skilled and supported civilian life.

not necessarily always! :biglaugh
When people cut the trees deliberately I feel the absense of them..when one of our neighbours cut down a tree which was on the side of their house..but I can visualise it being there..even today.
As you had pointed out..you are absolutely right pa..we shed tears when hearing the news of the soldiers and forget it when other news take over..
