Kamla, thankyou is a small word, but what else to say ? When I have in all of you " a ready audience" to appreciate the points I share with you, I feel very thankful to God. In olden days, when elders used to eat in plantain leaves, first they will keep a small ball of rice in the left side corner, to be thrown away with the used leaf. That was meant to feed dogs which will clamour around the thrown leaves. You can say, that is also bali ! I have also done a million good deeds in my past janmas to receive so much of love & affection from every one of you. Please stay tuned, Kamla ! Love & regards, Chithra.
Dear Mrs. Chitra, Truely, these 5 duties are the significance of our hinduism culture. I had an idea of all these duties before, but was not really sure of it, but after reading your post, am now sure of it and felt refreshing. Thanks for posting. Love, Jay
Dear Jay, thanks for finding time to post F B .... in the middle of your course. I feel very happy. The code of conduct laid down in our culture is so unique that if we just follow them, emanicipation is certain ! Love & regards, Chithra.
Such a unique and rich culture Dear Mrs C, Every week is getting interesting than the previous one. This week is simply so rich and a lot to consume. Now I understand so much about our culture since my American neighbour always is interested to know about our culture and I tell her whatever I learn here. It is so sad that old age homes are emerging in India and I am scared that the second Yagna is slowly diminishing. Will try to remember this always and also I am trying to follow as much as possible from your prayer guidelines.Hope to read more next Thur. Bye,
We must be rightly proud, Anjana ! The depth of our culture is so beautiful, that we cannot help thanking God, for being born under such a rich heritage. All the 5 points are not at all difficult, rather simple to follow, everyday ! Continue with me in this journey. Love & regards, Chithra.
eye opener :clap Dear chith, As usual Iam late in reading your post. I agree with Meena and Purnima that the word yajna seemingly is scary for a layman. The problem with our religion is the common man does not know how simple it is to be a good human being.By demystifying high sounding words, you have shown the simple path to enjoy happiness and peace. Do keep writng. Along with youngsters we also do some soul searching. God be with you always. Affectionate regards, Meenu
You hit the nail on the head, Meenu ! My very idea in starting this thread is to remove the fear about the vedic & cultural jargons ! I must thank my Guru very much, because he did it for me & I started admiring & appreciating our cultural values. I am, just in turn passing on to you in as simple a language as possible, what I learnt over the years ! Thankyou for your nice words. Love & regards, Chith.
Dear Chitra, Enjoyed reading your this week post. I know the word yagna, but didn’t know the meaning before. You are explaining everything in a simple way that everybody can understand. Thank you for the post. regards, surya.
Thankyou, Surya ! It is a great pleasure for me to know that you are enjoying the culture postings very much. The beauty of our culture, if understood properly, wll be enjoyed very much by everyone. Love & regards, Chithra.
Dear Chitra Mam, Thanks for giving an insight to our everyday duties. It truly shows how rich our culture & values are.The following lines have much relevance in today's society. In earlier times people were welcomed with the words Adithi devo bhava. They considered Manava Seva as Madhava Seva. But in this busy world we dont find time for ourselves let alone others. Earlier people ridiculed the Hindu system of worshipping trees & snakes. But knowing the essence of such rituals depicts a beautiful meaning Vasudaiva Kudumbakam. As nature serves us we are also duty-bound to serve back. Once again thanks for all these efforts & reminding us of our duties in a simple manner.
