    The costly save:
When both arrived I thought something is amiss and from day one all hell let loose, I had warned my daughter that the calamity is going out of control but she kept saying they are kids ma, and I had to put up with that..

All my well laid plants were uprooted, and the lotus lily pond developed algae as all things dropped into it, and anything that came in their way they gnawed and gnawed, whether it was my sofa which was a wooden one and I had to give it away as charity… still at my daughter please do something about it, and again all she did was explain, ma! Just a few weeks and my husband will be here, I said these days are going to be costly, the unseasonal rains added to woe they had to be tied down inside and where my second daughter had brought a wonderful sofa set just now…

I must say my fury is still to abate, as they have gnawed a corner of it and all the seat area is out with their skin off as if they have not eaten for a month now all are having a very long face and if only she had heeded, to put them in the kennel as suggested by me, if only …….sunkan

    Sunkan,

When we brought our Tuffy 4 years back, he bit the sofa, covers, took away our socks to the garden to chew, and worst, he used to take away wife and daughter;s undies from the bathroom, and eat them. Now he dosnt do so, just at the dot of 10 in the night he will sneak into my bathroom and take away a sock, and bring it near me, wanting me to scold him and catch him, but i ignore him, and within a few minutes he drops it.

Shall i send my 40 kg, 4 yr labrador to u , Sunkan.and i will send over 1000 every month for his food, he will give u good company :shock:Let me know.Regards.kamal

    Sunkan,

My friend has a dog called FIDO. Her son is very very affectionate towards fido. Even when we go out for long weekends, he will feel sad thinking of fido living alone in the house yard. My friend says she keeps seperatte budget for Fido. It;s quite exensive to have a dog - dog food, kennel, blanket, neck band, chain, food bowl, drinking bowl, bones, vaccination, dog care, medica expenses,....... Above all to get a good dog is another big expense. Another big expenses - to make good the loss due to dog made repairs/damage. For instance Fido has bitten the car seat belt of Audi, which they had to change fully. Made a mess of the car cover. Bitten all the sides of wooden garden bench. It pulls out all the small small plants.................

But above all, my friends kid is happy, in a foreign place where parents are busy, no friends near by, cannot go out due to crime. Dog is a very good company and support. He plays with fido, take care of him giving food, water, take him out for walk with parents around.

So Sunkan, try to bear with it as much as you can or hire a dog caring person to give coompany. OMG.

    Bala

    Hi all,

I think pets have become more than kids these days.
What ever they do we simply have to bare them..???????????

    Coz we love them both...

    Pets are Pets dear Sunkan,

I can never think of a day without mine either. We have a dalmatian too, but a female who is 6 years old.

OMG, Is she naughty?? Cannot say anything? The way she screams when we come back in the evening from the office. She won't let me get out of the gate, even to talk to my friends?:eek:mg:

I should stand inside the gate and they should be outside, away from me!!!

    Love
    Latha :wave
