The weather changed, people changed, traffic changed, a lot of things changed, but his routine remained the same and he was always there outside the corporate building.

He waited there for hours for that one voice, the voice that made his day. His face brightened when he heard the footsteps followed by the giggles. He knew for sure who it was.

She excused herself from the group and came near him and asked her usual question, "How are you doing today?"

He smiled and gave the same answer "I am doing wonderful, how are you?"

He knew the answer to his next question and yet asked her "So, what is the special today'.

She smiled and gave him the package containing his favorite breakfast, Poori. He could smell it from far, but did not want to miss the opportunity to ask about it with the enthusiasm of a small child.

They spent some time talking about the weather, the people, the traffic, the world, about everything beautiful around them. After she left, the place still smelled of her perfume and he loved it.

This little routine had been going on for the last few months. He was unable to remember when it really started, but since then, she had always shared whatever she ate and always made time to chat with him everyday.

Nobody else even stopped to look at him, they did not have the time to and did not really care. They thought she was crazy to be even talking to him and thought she was a loser.

It was morning and he was hungry. He had no idea what the time was. He heard many steps going in or going out of the office and yet no sign of her. She had never been away from work and it only worried him. Was she sick or did something happen to her? He did not want to think about it. Going through the day was such a pain and he was praying for her to be safe.

The next morning, he heard her voice and his joy knew no bounds. She came near him and after giving him his food, started talking to him. She sounded distraught and lost and it ached to hear her sad voice. He wanted to ask her what was wrong, yet, something held him back.

She went back to her group and today he hardly heard her voice. Her friends were doing the talking and was trying to cheer her up.

"It's ok, do not worry, he is the loser after all" said one of her friends.

"He does not know what he is losing, seriously, a girl like you, and all they can see is this?" said another.

From their conversation, he understood that another guy had once again broken her heart by rejecting the wedding proposal due to her dark complexion and looks. He could not see her face and yet knew she must be very upset.

He muttered an ugly curse under his breath and wanted to shout aloud to this world about this wonderful woman, whom he had come to know only a few months back. He had come to the streets and had looked for work. But, as hunger overtook, he had resorted to sitting outside the office. He just sat there the whole time too proud to ask others for money. She had come out one day and looked at him. She saw that he did not beg and he was just sitting there with his bag. She did not want to offer him any money and break his pride. She had gone back and got him food to eat and that's how it had started.

He loved her with all his heart. He did not understand the difference between wheatish or dark complexion, black or white, beautiful or ugly, it made no sense to him for there was only one way that he saw this world, he saw it with his heart and mind. God had deprived him of his sight and made up by giving him a very beautiful mind.

He wanted to console her and tell her that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, as beautiful as his mother. But, knew no words could change this mentally deprived world, which only saw the external beauty. He did not understand who was more disabled, him or the others? He did not understand this world and did not want to.

He wanted to do something, ease her pain, make her smile again. He thought about it for long. He could not stand to see her sad. He knew he could not change people, change this world.

He was only 10 and there was only one small yet wonderful thing that he could do to ensure her happiness. He brought his two hands together and started to pray :bowdown
