As soon as I read the title of this thread I was smiling. I'm sure many tamilians have heard the word "ellam therinja ekambaram"... more often have I seen such attitude with women than men that I coined my own phrase "ekambari" (feminine version)!! :) I seemed to use it so much that my immediate family has added that to their vocabulary too.

Thinking more about the topic...people seem to always measure their standard by comparing with others & they don't stop at this... they go on to make themselves feel better by making another feel bad. Ego needs to be fed all the time, unfortunately...

    Dear Cheeniya sir,

This was another piece well written with so much humour. Just loved it. Now am running out of adjectives here. I am a Jerome K Jerome fan too.
Thank god, to date have not encountered an " all-knowing " person. if i do, i think i would run a mile the other way!!

You are right about having to feed ego all the time. Ego is a thing that can never be fed enough and the more you feed it the more it demands. As it gets fed more and more, it grows into enormous size too!

    Dear Vandhana
From what you say, I feel that it is good to have an 'all knowing' person around. If he can make you run a mile, it's a good way to remain in good shape nah?

    Dear Sri,
I can guess what you are arriving at ??!!
So, you will write, asking us to run a mile everyday to keep in "good shape"?
An inkling of things to come, right ?
    Love,
    Chithra.

Tut tut Cheeniya...how could you...Vandhana need not run to keep shape, she is in a great shape:)

I may not be your 'nan sollalae Ganesan' uncle, but I definitely now have a premonition about the advent of visitors/guests to my home.....
..It always happens when I am unkempt and looking a mess, my house in a disarray, my kitchen understocked...knock knock...who's there...the unexpected guest ofcourse::idontgetit: I simply should have known!

    Dear Kamla
I just can understand! When you know so well what attracts guests to your house, why dont you launch remedial action ? You dont because you love having guests!
But on the plus side, keeping the house in a mess is good in a way because the marauding guests can not make it messier!
