I am traveling in India. I am going through physiotherapy for my numbness in the feet. My routines are on hold for now. I need to get back to my routine after my return to the US.

A note from a dear friend brings me back to this thread. Though I haven't been active on the forum, I have thought of this thread off and on. Probably because my days are never not in need of regimentation. After some thought, my five goals this time around are fairly similar to what they've always been.

    1. 45 minute walk and 45 minute workout
    2. 100g of protein everyday
    3. 1 hour of riyaaz
    4. 8+ hours of sleep
    5. 2 hours of deep work

Number 5 will be the hardest because there are far too many transitions built into my day. My mind is always a step ahead of where I am, preoccupied with what's coming up next - the next meeting, the next appointment, the next to-do. I will have to consciously push back against demands on my time and attention. It will mean restructuring my day and saying no more often than I feel comfortable doing, but I have to try. As always the goal is progress not perfection. Will start the day after labor day.

Yay, @Gauri03! Welcome back, and thank you for renewing this thread. I would love to join. I will come back with my five by the end of the week and hope to start with you the day after Labor Day as well!

Talking about 2 hours of deep work, have you come across the book "Flow" by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi?

This is why I love this thread, we haven't even started the challenge....and so much to discuss already.

    @Gauri03,

Thank you for restarting this thread. I can't thank you enough and it is peer competition that makes this exercise much more interesting.

    1) 45 minutes walk and 15 minutes of working out.
    2) 100 grams of protein, 70 grams of fat & no rice for 6 days a week.
    3) 60 minutes of reading spiritual content
    4) 7+ hours of sleep & 3 hours of work with undivided attention
    5) Deep meditation for 15 minutes

Between kids’ classes resuming and Ganeshotsav preparations things didn’t go as planed. Lots of false starts. I managed 2-3 goals per day but never all in one day until yesterday. Yesterday was the first proper day 1. I have no idea how I will fit 100g of protein into my diet during Navratri fasting. There might be many more day 1s in my future! : )

    Sep 8 - Day 1
    1. 45 minute walk - 1 hour 15 minutes
45 minute workout - 20 minutes weights, 25 minutes cardio
    2. 100g of protein everyday - done
    3. 1 hour of riyaaz - done
    4. 8+ hours of sleep - almost done
    5. 2 hours of deep work - done
