    Ingredients


    • onions – ½ kg
    • Garlic small variety – 100 gms
    • Mustard – 50 gms
    • Fenugreek seeds – 2 table spoon
    • Cumin seeds – 50 gms
    • Turmeric powder – 1 table spoon
    • channa dal -2 table spoon
    • urad dal – 3 table spoon
    • Curry leaves – few strings
    • Table salt (crystal ) – 3 table spoon
    • castor oil – 25 to 50 ml
    how to make

    Add mustard, fenugreek, cumin seeds,urad dal,channa daal together


    then add Peeled onion, garlic ((chopped finely))

    add salt, curry leaves

    leave this covered for 5-6 hrs

    dry it in direct sunlight for 2 days

    after 2 days add oil and mix well

    shape it into orange sized balls and dry it again in direct sunlight for 2 days

    This can be stored for almost an year if dried properly.

    instead of seasoning with mustard this is used

    goes well for sambar , keerai with good taste :):thumbsup:clap

    Hi Malar,

    Thanks for sharing. This is generation old item but still it got its own value right...

    Always amma give us lot in box,we store for years...we store in fridge, use during karakuzhambhu,sambar ,keerai...

    But will save your receipe, so when i run out of stock can prepare myself at home.

    s. my grandma used to make for me.nowadays i dont trouble her so i make it my self with her recipe :)

    எண்ணெய், கடுகு, சீரகம், பெருங்காயம், கறிவேப்பிலை.

    செய்முறை:


    • வெந்தயக் கீரையை தனித் தனி இலையாக உதிர்த்து, தண்ணீரில் அலசி, நீரை வடியவைத்துக் கொள்ளவும்.
    • பச்சை மிளகாய் 1 , பூண்டு, இஞ்சியை விழுதாக அரைத்துக் கொள்ளவும்.
    • வெங்காயம், பச்சை மிளகாய் 2, தக்காளி, விழுது, பருப்பு முக்கால் பதத்திற்கு வேகவைத்துக் கொள்ளவும்.
    • அடுப்பில் வாணலியில் கடுகு, சீரகம், பெருங்காயம், கறிவேப்பிலை தாளிக்கவும்.
    • அலசிய கீரையைச் சேர்த்து வதக்கி, உப்பு, மஞ்சள்தூள், அரை கப் தண்ணீர் சேர்த்து மூடி, நிதானமான தீயில் வேக வைக்கவும்.
    • மேலும் சில நிமிடங்கள் கொதிக்கவிட்டவும்.
    • கீரை, பருப்பு சேர்த்து குக்கரை மூடி 2 விசில் விட்டு இரக்கவும்.

    Method:wave:


    • Boil toor dal, turmeric powder and 2 cups of water in a pressure cooker, half cook.
    • chop onion, tomato and green chilli.
    • add vendhaya keerai, chopped items, chilli, coriander powder, salt, asafetida, few curry leaves and boil.
    • cook till it is soft. Mash and mix well.
    • boil for few more minutes and remove.
    • if required water can be added to get semi-solid consistency,
    • Do the seasoning separately with oil and ½ sp of ghee (just for smell).
    • add in the cooked vendhaya keerai kuzhambu.
    • Goes well with rice or chappati.

    instead of vendhaya keerai paruppu keerai or palak keerai can also be used.:whistle
